The Who of Our Design

People matter; that’s why we develop our building systems with them in mind. Our firm consists of individuals that start from curiosity, implement sound solutions, and constructively problem solve. We work to achieve balance between work and life, promoting a collaborative environment and cultivating an atmosphere of respect. Below you have an opportunity to get to know a bit about the people behind the drawings and specifications created for you. However, this by no means lets you off the hook for having conversations with us on a regular basis.

electrical graduate engineer

I strive to pursue the hearts of others while taking the time to understand the world at large. As I grew up on the south side of San Antonio, it was clear to me that what seemed like small victories to most were mountains to climb for me and my peers. Role models were scarce in my youth, and still are. The women in my life had to grow up fast and couldn't dream big because of their commitments to family. I'm changing that. I know I'm fortunate: that the sacrifices of my grandparents have allowed me to do what they couldn't even imagine. As a first-generation college graduate, I'm committed to make my contributions count.

I aspire to be an engineer so that I can build and encourage community. I choose to be a leader to those around me, so that they don't have to take paths untraveled. When I'm not at a computer selecting lights or adjusting power, I enjoy trying new and exciting foods, taking care of my little one, and cultivating my startup charcuterie business. I find that these endeavors, along with my passion for design, help to grow sustainable communities where I can make a lasting impression.

Hugh Gloade

electrical Project designer

Life’s not a race, rather it's time best shared with others. My journey began on the Islands in Antigua and St. Croix, where I grew up in a large family, with a fisherman father. He often conveyed to us that who we associate with shows our truth. I also learned that being early and patient is as crucial as hard work.

With an airport close by, I had ambitions to become a pilot, often sketching aircraft in detail while watching them arrive from a hillside vantage point. A friend at our Kingdom Hall mentioned I should consider architecture with those acquired skills. I soon saw that the detailed nature of engineering plans would be a great opportunity to showcase my love for arranging things in a logical manner.

On my way to San Antonio, I made a 14-year pitstop in South Florida where Joanna, my wife, found me while I was attending Drafting School. Once settled in South Texas, we started a family of our own, raising two children together: Annika and Hayden. As a father, I strive to show unselfish love in all my actions and encourage us to be courteous, among ourselves and with others.

I design to see the fruits of my labor. I enjoy witnessing others encounter the buildings and spaces I help to create. When I’m not working, I take pride in home improvement projects, appreciate well-maintained cars, nice shoes, and traveling with my family.

Michael L. Reise, PE, LFA, LEED AP BD+C

Principal / Electrical Engineer

My trek through engineering began at the intersection of my three passions: tinkering with technology, serving those around me, and a constant quest for understanding. I engineer so that people can enjoy their surroundings, without thinking about the complexities of the systems that make their experience seamless. Throughout the past fourteen years, I have had the pleasure to work with a multitude of clients, making a realized impact in local communities.

I am a reliable and highly motivated electrical engineer with management, software development and electrical infrastructure design experience. I thoroughly enjoy tackling design challenges to create simple, innovative solutions to complex problems through planned synthesis, analysis and implementation. I ascribe to Lean Six Sigma methodology as a basis for continual improvement.

I served on the City of San Antonio Building-Related and Fire Codes Appeals and Advisory Board and have been involved in the South Texas Chapter of the U.S. Green Building Council and the South Texas Chapter of Association for Learning Environments. In my time away from the office I enjoy the physical challenges associated with cycling and bouldering, the strategy and tactics related to board games, as well as the combination of planning and engineering that goes into maintaining a saltwater aquarium.
